Lewis Family Name and Age of your children: Kayla-13 years old City and State you and your spouse were reared: I, Sharon, was born and raised in Trinadad. Kayla was born in Brooklyn, NY and reared in Somerset,NJ. How long have you been members of Straightway Baptist Church? I have been a member for over 2 years. Who invited you to join our church, or what interested you in joining our church? Christine Candelario and I were members of SBBC. When Pastor Guarneri left to start Straightway Baptist Church, she went with him and invited me to attend. I decided that this is where I wanted to be. Comments about Pastor Guarneri: Pastor G is an awesome pastor. He is a charismatic preacher and extremely funny. He not only preaches the Word of God, but he lives it. I am encouraged by his dedication and committment to reach lost souls for the Lord. I am very proud to call him my pastor! Interesting story, incident, or answer to prayer: As a Christian my desire was that my daughter would accept Jesus Christ as her Saviour. I prayed without ceasing and in 2006 the Lord answered my prayers. My daughter, Kayla Lewis, gave her life to the Lord and I know that God answers prayers.

Give us your salvation testimony. As far back as I can remember I have always attended church. My mother took us to church every Sunday morning and evening and God was everywhere in her life. So I knew He was real, but never fully gave my life over to Him. I have been through many trials and tribulations throughout my life. Sometimes I would turn to God but mosty I tried to figure out the answers myself. Then one day I was going through a period in my life when I felt defeated and empty. At that point in my life I didn't go to church regulary but this particular Sunday I decided to attend. I had been attending SBBC for almost 3 years but I was there really only in the body. This day it felt as if Pastor Miller was speaking directly to me and then I felt the Spirit of the Lord speak to me. I know at that moment what I had to do and I gave myself complete to him. I am a forever chagned person in Christ.

Give us your childs ’s testimony. My daughter, Kayla, has always been a good child but she was not saved and I knew that even though she was good it would not get her to heaven. She attended Sunday School, did her devotionals and eve said her prayers every night but that was where it stopped. One Sunday we attended church and at the end of the service she seemed extremely quiet. As we left church and got into the car she turned to me and said that she wanted to give her life to God, but she would next week. I looked at her and said tomorrow is not promised. If God is speaking to your heart today, today is when we should respond. WE both began to cry and she said she was ready. WE both got out of the car and headed back inside the church where Joy, Mrs. G, and Pastor G saw us coming. Joy took Kayla and and went over step by step the plan of salvation. On that day, Kayla gave her life to the Lord

Of what ministries are you a part of? I am involved in the nursery, soulwinning, and assist Joy Osterhoudt in the teenage girl's Sunday School class.
