Rodolfo and Gloria Adapon
City and State you and your spouse
were reared: We both grew
up in Manila, Philippines
Name and age of your children: Regina
is 36 and Grace is 34 years old and we have 5 grandchildren.
How long have you been members of
Straightway Baptist Church? We
have been members since February 2008
Who invited you to join
our church, or what interested you in joining our church?
We first noticed the signage of the church in front of
the Clarion Inn when we were riding on the bus. Later,
we saw the van in the Mercer Mall parking lot. We approaced
Pastor Guarneri and introduced ourselves and explained
we were looking for a church to attend since we were new
to the area. We believe God led us to this church.

Comments about
Pastor Guarneri: We believe that Pastor Guarneri's messages
are truly inspired by the Holy Spirit. He shows the love of Christ
to all members by always being concerned for their welfare. He
is on fire for soulwinning which is God's greatest commission
to us Christians.
Interesting story, incident, or answer to prayer:
My husband Rudy, being diabetic, suffered a stroke in 1995. When it happened,
the reality that life c an end anytime dawned on me. He couldn't speak clearly
anymore, couldn't walk straight, nor could he focus his eyes properly. I
laid my hand on his head and prayed to God that we need him, but His will
be done on his life. He had 2 blood clots in his brain and he stayed in the
hospital for 2 weeks. But miraculously, he survived. I believe GOd healed
him because he wants us to live for his glory.
Give us your salvation testimony.
I, Gloria Adapon, was born and raised
a protestant. I grew up going to church on Sundays. I attended
church activities and finished high school in Silliman University,
a school started by missionaries. I felt the presence and love
of Christ in my life although it was a lukewarm relationship. In
1982, my family assigned us to manage our farm in Davao. Life was
challenging in the province with my wife and two daughters. Aside
from managing our farm, we had a piggery business that went bad.
We shifted to raising chickens and Pastor Bill Mutchler came to
buy. He was an American conservative Baptist missionary who was
assigned to Davao to plant churches. Although I learned about salvation
before, it was only then that I understood the real meaning of
it. Wanting to develop a better relationship with the Lord, we
became active members of Tagum Christian Fellowship.
I, Rodolfo Adapon, was born and raised in the Catholic church.
I am the oldest of 12 brothers and sisters (half of them are born
again Christians now.) I had questions about the Catholic religion
so when we got married, we attended the protestant church. When
Pastor Mutchler cane amd explained Salvation , I was open and my
wife and I accepted the Lord as our personal Saviour. God reminded
us that we cannot depend on our own capabilities and abilities
and that we need him. We lost our business but God used
it for good..we gained our souls. I actively helped the church
as the architect and eventually became a deacon.
Of what ministries are you a part of?
Gloria is involved with soulwnning, nursery and is a Nursery Sunday
School Teacher. Rudy is a faithful soulwinner and uses his calligraphy
expertise for church awards.
